GLENGARRY SWING

Glengarry Swing is a progressive sequence dance in march or two-step time

This is the sort of dance that is suited to relative newcomers to sequence dancing, as most people can learn it in a few minutes.

The dance begins in Promenade Hold, with the man on the inside of the circle, facing down the Line Of Dance (LOD) but slightly toward centre.

Men and Women begin on the same foot. On the spot, with Left foot: Heel, Toe, Heel, Toe
With LOD - moving slightly left, Step Forward Left foot, Lock Behind Right foot, Step Forwd Left foot
With LOD moving slighly Right, Step Forward Right foot, Lock Behind Left foot, Step Fwd Right foot.
Promenade with LOD Left, Right, Left, Right
Backing against LOD Right, Left, Right, feet together
Turn to face each other.
Clap hands together on your left side.
Clap hands together on your right side.
Clap both hands on your own knees.
Clap left hand against partners left hand.
Clap right hand against partners right hand.
Clap both hands against partners hands.
Back away from your partner (Men Back Left foot Women Back Right foot), both feet together without weight.
Progressive - Men walk toward your new partner (Men Fwd Right foot Women Forward Left foot), feet together without weight.
